Is there a rule for reading acronyms depending on the number of letters? Normally acronyms of three letters are spelled out (FBI, IMF, BMW), but when it comes to four letters or more the only indication you have is whether or not the acronym is a tongue-twister or not. You would spell out EBRD, but blend NASA. Is there any specific rule that applies to the use of acronyms in spoken language when it comes to less well-known organizations?
